Heirloom Chrysanthemums
These are not your standard garden center mums, these are the kings of the mums world – Heirloom Chrysanthemums. These beauties are the very last flower on our farm to bloom, usually the first or second week of November. It’s a bit tricky since their bloom time comes after our normal first frost, but by throwing a frost cloth over the top of the row on those first few frosty evenings, we get a bountiful harvest of these beauties to get us through Thanksgiving. There is nothing better than a bunch of fresh, locally grown flowers on the Thanksgiving table.
